Sensei Gibson had quite an unusual path into the Niedō family. His story starts in the Philippines, where he was born and lived until he was 18 years old.
Like many Senseis before him, Sensei Gibson started out by dabbling in various different martial arts disciplines without ever really settling into one style or one club.
Sensei Gibson came to the UK in 2011 and initially lived in Blackpool. Here, he decided to take a bit of a detour from martial arts and tried his hand at breakdancing. Before too long he became an Instructor and was performing and competing in breakdancing competitions. However, after 5 years, something was missing for Sensei Gibson and in 2016 he decided to move to London with aspirations of getting back into martial arts with ultimate aspirations of becoming a stuntman.
Sensei Gibson had this to say:
"After moving to London, I initially started self-training, but I soon realised that I needed some help from professionals. That's when I discovered the Niedō Kickboxing discipline. It is the most professional martial arts outfit I have ever had the privilege of training in. In fact, I loved it so much that I kept training and training until the opportunity arose to become a Sensei. It was too good an offer to turn down. It is like a dream come true to work with such a great team."
Niedō does everything it can to help people to reach their goals. This is what we will do Sensei Gibson, and we are lucky to have a great Sensei on board in return.
